I began this painting with the same poured
frisket technique. The frisket followed the water lines and formed a
nice pattern. Here is a picture of the frisket dried on the paper. I
then poured watercolor on top of this and let it bleed together. Then I
let it dry. I was now ready to start the air ship painting. I had
drawn it out on paper earlier so I just used this drawing as a
reference. I just free painted onto the paper without drawing it out
in pencil. You can draw ahead of even the frisket pour if you want to
start that way.
